How to change the nameservers?

All domain registrations done through us, including .lk domain names (Coming Soon), support automatic nameserver changes.

How to update the nameservers?

You can follow the steps below to change your domain’s nameservers and verify the update:

  1. Access (login to) your client area account via web.jkdesigns.lk

  2. Click on “Domains” > “My Domains” from the top navigation bar.

  3. Click on the domain name from the list that you want to apply changes to.

  4. You will be taken to a page titled "Managing yourdomain.lk"
(e.g., if your domain is testdomain.lk, it will show “Managing testdomain.lk”)

  5. On the left side menu, click on “Nameservers.” There, you can enter the new nameserver records.

⚠️ Enter only the nameserver addresses (e.g., dns1.jkdesigns.cloud, dns2.jkdesigns.cloud) – do not include IP addresses, brackets, or extra spaces.

  6. Click the “Change Nameservers” button at the bottom of the page.

  7. If you see "Changes Saved Successfully!", your update has been submitted.

    • For generic TLDs (e.g., .com, .net, .org), propagation usually takes around 6 hours.

    • For .lk domain names, updates can take up to 1 business day to be applied by the registry.

Important Notice for .LK Domain Names

This includes second-level .lk domains like .com.lk, .edu.lk, .xyz.lk, etc.

  • After you change nameservers for a .lk domain, you might not be able to view the saved/current nameservers in the nameserver fields within your client area. This is normal.

  • To verify the current nameservers, you can use tools like https://www.intodns.com and look under the Parent Nameservers section.

  • Do not submit multiple nameserver change requests for the same update.
If you saw the “Changes Saved Successfully!” message, that is sufficient—please allow up to one business day for registry-side updates.

Still not seeing the update after 24 hours?
Please open a support ticket (Technical Support) so we can check it for you.
